ABAP Developer for a Retail Company (Remote)
Scope: Full-time
Location: Remote (with possible on-site visits if needed)
Start: Immediate or per agreement
Duration: B2B - until end of 2025 + potential for extension
We are seeking an ABAP developer eager to work with master data, assortment, and pricing in a dynamic retail environment. Our client—a rapidly growing retail company—is seeking a consultant to support their ongoing SAP initiatives. This engagement can be carried out remotely and is expected to start soon.
Our retail customer is undergoing extensive modernization of their SAP systems and migrating to SAP HANA. The modernization aims to create a more efficient and future-proof IT environment that supports the business's growth and digitization journey. To strengthen the team, we are now looking for an experienced ABAP developer who can contribute to the implementation and optimization of the system.
Mission description:
As an ABAP developer, you will play a central role in the customer's migration and modernization projects. The role involves developing, adapting and optimizing ABAP code to ensure that existing processes work smoothly in the new SAP HANA environment, as well as supporting with new development and integrations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
ABAP Development: Develop and customize SAP solutions, with a strong focus on ABAP.
Data Management: Oversee master data (including assortment and pricing) to support critical retail operations.
Process Optimization: Streamline and maintain processes for data flows, integrations, and system solutions.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a robust, efficient system landscape.
Requirements:
Several years of hands-on ABAP development in SAP environments ( senior level)
Proven track record working with master data—ideally in retail, assortment, or pricing.
Solid grasp of retail processes, able to convert functional needs into technical solutions.
Thrives in a collaborative setting, enjoys discussions and idea exchanges with peers.
Comfortable working both independently and in agile team setups.
Excellent communication skills in English (Swedish is a plus).
Nice to have :
SAP Retail Expertise: Familiarity with SAP Retail or similar industry-specific modules.
S/4HANA: Experience with SAP S/4HANA and its broader capabilities.
End-to-End Projects: Involvement in projects covering full data flow and integrated solutions.
